The Children's Workshop Raises Money for Women's Shelter

Waltham, MA – Families at The Children's Workhop in Waltham got to do some extra shopping before the holidays and also benefited a local women's shelter. The teachers at the early learning center in Waltham volunteered their Saturday morning while parents paid for the extra hours. All the money earned, over $300, was donated to a local shelter in the area (which preferred to remain unnamed). The women's shelter houses abused and battered women and their young children and acts as a safe house while the families get back on their feet.

"It's wonderful that we have the opportunity to raise funds for such a worthy organization, while at the same time giving our parents a little free time to get some holiday shopping done," said Kelly Dosey, Director of The Children's Workshop. "Our teachers created some wonderful art projects with the children and everyone enjoyed themselves."
