Local Child Care Center Participating in Holiday Effort to Seek Support From Waltham Residents to Provide Clothing for Needy Young Children
WALTHAM – A local child care center is demonstrating this season that it is never too early to teach the gift of giving as it is partnering with a nonprofit organization to provide new socks and underwear for children in need.
The Children's Workshop, 475 Winter Street, is joining with Cradles to Crayons to sponsor a community wide drive to provide the clothing items in sizes ranging from newborn to 14/16.
Local residents can drop off donations of new socks and underwear from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Dec. 4 to Dec. 9 at the child care center. Donations are tax deductible and receipts will be available.
"We're very pleased to participate in this effort with Cradles to Crayons," said Kelly Dorsey, director of the Children's Workshop. "Even at their young age, our preschoolers will learn a valuable lesson about helping those less fortunate."
Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes new and genly-used children's items to the area's neediest children, free of charge. Last year, the organization provided clothing items to 16,000 children. |
