Children Celebrate National Young Readers Day

RIVERSIDE, RI (October 26, 2004) –Child Care Connection early learning center in Riverside, RI will be celebrating National Young Readers Day on Tuesday, November 9 with special guest readers at the center throughout the day.

Beginning at 9:00am, guest readers will be visiting the center to read to the students at Child Care Connection for 20-30 minutes each. Some of the readers will include: General Treasurer, Paul J. Tavares; State Representative, John Savage; Lieutenant Governor, Charles J. Fogarty.

"The intention of National Young Readers Day is to celebrate the joy of reading with children. Guest readers will not only entertain the children with a story from their favorite book, but also demonstrate the importance of reading in their own lives," said Sheila Dandeneau, Director of Child Care Connection in Riverside, RI.

Child Care Connection prides itself in providing their families with high quality care and learning and offers "The Creative Curriculum", a nationally recognized educational approach to teaching young children. Child Care Connection was founded in 1991 as a company dedicated to providing high quality child care services to infants, toddlers, preschool, kindergarten and school age children. The company opened its first child care center in Lincoln, RI in 1991 and has grown to 15 early learning centers throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

National Young Reader's Day, which annually falls on the second Tuesday in November, was founded in 1989 by Pizza Hut®, BOOK IT®, National Reading Incentive Program, and the Library of Congress.
