Pawtucket Child Care Connection Awarded National Accreditation

Pawtucket – The National Afterschool Association (NAA) has awarded accreditation to Child Care Connection in Pawtucket. The early education program is one of the first to receive the NAA accreditation in Rhode Island.

Child Care Connection, located at 197 Beverage Hill Avenue, currently cares for 16 preschool and 47 after school children. "We're so proud of our teachers and their commitment to this rigorous process," said CEO Kevin Fusco, referring to the lengthy accreditation process.

"Recognition from NAA confirms Child Care Connection's commitment to providing high quality care and learning for young children," said Sheila Dandeneau, the company's Director of Education. "Our warm, child-friendly, learning environments create an atmosphere where learning is truly child's play."

Centers accredited by NAA must demonstrate that they provide the following:
· A healthy, safe environment for children
· Developmentally appropriate curriculum
· Quality interaction among children and teachers
· Strong communication between parents and staff

NAA is the leading national voice of the after school profession and they are dedicated to the development, education and care of children and youth during their out-of-school hours. Its accreditation program is a voluntary process for early childhood programs to improve and maintain the quality of early care and education throughout the country. Accreditation is a gradual process involving an in-depth self-study by center directors, parents and teachers.

Child Care Connection prides itself in providing their families with one of the best service levels in the child care industry and offers "The Creative Curriculum", a nationally recognized educational approach to teaching young children. Founded in 1990 as a company dedicated to providing high quality child care services, the company opened its first child care center in Lincoln, RI in 1991 and has grown to over 16 early learning centers throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
