Employees Walk to the Moon
Lincoln, RI (June 12, 2007) – CEO
Kevin Fusco has challenged the 350+ employees of The Children’s
Workshop to walk to the moon! In an effort to both inspire and
motivate employees to develop a healthy approach to wellness and
fitness, the entire company is keeping track of their daily
miles with pedometers which the company distributed for free to
each employee.
Our goal as an organization is to get our staff to walk just a
little bit more than usual” said Fusco, “It’s 230,000 miles to
the moon and there are about 350 of us….which means that each of
us has to walk 657 miles between now and November 12.” Fusco’s
reference to November 12 is the date for the company’s annual
L.I.F.E. Conference – Leadership Institute For Educations which
is held on Veteran’s Day each year as a professional training
day for the entire organization. This year’s theme is Health and
Wellness and the day will start off with a key note address from
Gary Marino, who lost more than 150lbs by walking from Florida
to Boston. Also joining the day is Kelly MacFarland, an
outrageous comedian who lost 85lbs on the TV show, The Biggest
Loser”.
As added incentive, For each week between now and November 12,
Fusco will be awarding a $100 Visa gift card to the employee who
has walked the farthest for that week.
