New Child Care Center In Bourne Will Serve Working Parents

BOURNE - A new child care center designed to provide infant, toddler, preschool and afterschool programs for more than 125 area children will open on Route 28 here on July 11.

The 10,000-square facility will include three outdoor playgrounds, an indoor gross motor room, and individual classrooms each age group.

Trisha Mason, a lifelong resident of the Cape, and an early childhood educator for more than 20 years, has been named director of the Children's Workshop, 536 MacArthur Blvd.

Previously, Mason served as director of the Little Red School House in Plymouth and as manager in training at The Children's Workshop in Seekonk.

"Our new center has been specifically designed to meet the needs of children and working families from Bourne and surrounding communities," said Kevin Fusco, CEO of Child Care Connection.

"There will be afterschool programs for school-aged children which include homework assistance, transportation to and from school, and vacation camps when school is out of session. The center will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.," he said.

Child Care Connection, which owns and operates 17 centers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, emphasizes high quality care and learning, Fusco said.

Many of the company's centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and feature “The Creative Curriculum, a nationally-recognized educational approach to teaching young children.
