US Troops to Receive Supply Donations from Child Care Connection

Starting Monday, April 7, Child Care Connection (CCC) will be collecting donations of supplies for the US troops in Iraq. Prompted by 9 year-old Alexis Spencer who attends the CCC after school program, this 4 grader wanted to help the troops and is writing a letter to go along with all the donated supplies. Many of the children at Child Care Connection have relatives that are fighting the war with Iraq. By collecting supplies for the troops both the children and the soldiers will benefit. Many of the older children in our care are looking for a way to feel connected to their relatives and to feel involved with family concerns. Donations from the public are welcome (and encouraged).

Child Care Connection in Warwick has a barrel on-site and the public is welcome to bring donations of supplies and food. Suggested items include soap, dental floss, snacks, chocolate, tissues, games, vitamins, sun screen, batteries, etc. A more comprehensive list can be found at www.ltgov.state.ri.us.
