Child Care Connection Chosen to Participate in First Book Program

Pawtucket, RI (April 6, 2005) –Child Care Connection (CCC) and First Book have partnered to distribute over 100 books and educational materials to children of low-income families in Pawtucket, RI.

Chrissy Charron, Assistant Director of the Pawtucket CCC will make sure the books are incorporated into program lessons, and given to the children to take home and keep. Charron says, “We are honored to have the opportunity to take part in the efforts of the First Book program. Child Care Connection is extremely supportive of educational programs that facilitate reading, especially those that put books in the hands of less fortunate children.”

Each book has a bookplate for the child to write his or her name. Declaring ownership of a book is the first step in supporting children in reading. In releasing the book award to CCC, First Book noted, “Your dedication to supporting children in reading will help eradicate literacy in Rhode Island. Children can read their way to success.”

Child Care Connection prides itself in providing their families with high quality care and learning for infants, toddlers, preschool, kindergarten and school age children. The company owns and operates early learning centers under the name of Child Care Connection in RI and The Children's Workshop in MA. CCC is committed to providing excellence in education for young children. CCC opened our first early learning center in 1991 and has since grown to 17 centers throughout RI and MA.
