New Child Care Center In Providence Will Serve Working Parents
Providence, RI - A new child care
center designed to provide infant, toddler, preschool and
afterschool programs for more than 100 area children has just
opened in Providence just off the Admiral Street exit on Route
146.
The 9,500-square foot,
state-of-the-art facility includes three outdoor playgrounds and
individual classrooms each age group. The center is open from
6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Antonio Martins, an early
childhood educator for more than 4 years, has been named
director of The Children’s Workshop at 15 Clarkson Street.
Previously, Martins served as
director of The Children’s Workshop in Central Falls. Martins
has been with the company since 2004. He holds a Bachelors
Degree in Education and recently received his RI Head Teacher
Certification.
“Our new center has been
specifically designed to meet the needs of children and working
families from Providence and surrounding communities, said Kevin
Fusco, CEO of The Children’s Workshop.
“There is an afterschool program
for school-aged children which include homework assistance,
transportation to and from school, and vacation camps when
school is out of session.” he said
The Children’s Workshop (part of the Child Care Connection, Inc.
family), which owns and operates 17 centers in Massachusetts and
Rhode Island, emphasizes high quality care and learning, Fusco
said.
The company’s curriculum features “The Creative Curriculum”, a
nationally-recognized educational approach to teaching young
children.
