The Children's Workshop's Mentoring Program is gaining momentum! We are very excited to launch our program this fall in the Central Falls school system. We...
At The Children's Workshop in Waltham, we understand the day-to-day child care demands placed on today's busy families. We provide a truly quality early childhood education environment where children can feel safe, happy, confident, and proud of what they accomplish. We also offer flexible scheduling, back-up care, affordable rates, convenient hours from 7:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., and a central location with easy access to Route 128.
We utilize The Children’s Workshop Curriculum, a framework we developed that draws inspiration from the Creative Curriculum and several states' Early Learning Standards, which you will see in action in all our centers. Children retain more when they're having fun so our programs emphasize learning through play. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation for children's academic success and our teachers provide a warm, nurturing environment in which every child can be successful. Each classroom and our playground have been specifically designed to provide age-appropriate challenges and opportunities. The environment is constructed to stimulate the child's imagination and to encourage active exploration and discovery.
Our experienced team of early childhood educators is committed to the unique development of each child. Each teacher has been carefully selected through an extensive interview and orientation process. All of our teachers receive ongoing classroom support, supervision and continuing education. Everyone on the staff is certified in early childhood health and safety, first aid, and CPR.
Our mission is to be the premier provider of quality early childhood education, continually striving to not only meet, but exceed, industry standards and parent expectations. We invite you to visit us and see our programs in action! Please call us at (781) 466-8640 to schedule a personal tour!

Catherine McGuigginHi! My name is Catherine and I am the director of the amazing Children's Workshop located in Waltham, Massachusetts!
I began working for The Children's Workshop in August 2010. My roots are from Scituate, MA where I was born and grew up. I later attended the University of Rochester, in Rochester, NY and received a degree in Geology and Secondary Education as well as a teaching certificate in Earth Science/General Science. After teaching high school I wanted to broaden my field knowledge in education so I returned to school and continued studies in Early Childhood Education at St. Petersburg College in Clearwater, FL. I have been working in the field of Early Childhood Education since 1990, and have had the pleasure of being the Director of three separate centers. My most recent experience before coming to work for The Children's Workshop was directing a center in Millis, MA for ten years.
I enjoy working with children of every age and watching them learn and grow. My favorite part of any day is when a child tells me, "You know what Miss Catherine...." When I retire I will publish the best seller entitled "Famous Quotes of Amazing Children." When I am not at The Children's Workshop I am spending time with my two children, Keegan and Macy. We enjoy spending time outdoors, with family, and at the beach.
Please stop by and visit our beautiful Waltham location - our teachers are the best around and we cannot wait to welcome you to the TCW family!

The "Nordstrom's" of Child Care
The TCW has saved my life. I did not know that 17 years later I would have to choose daycare again. I thought my standards were right where they should have been; and then I went to visit TCW and discovered that my standards were not high enough. My son has both blossomed and has increased his mental and physical abilities. There is not one day where I see the difference in him. Every teacher treats my son as if he is special and like their own child. The center is always well organized and clean beyond my satisfaction. The TCW is the “Nordstrom’s” of child care. It is worth every dime that I pay for. I have exceptional quality and care and I never once worry about my child’s well-being during the day.
